Beacon Cove -
5 minute walk
Beacon Cove, adjacent to Living Coasts, is a small pebbly cove where Agatha Christie bathed as a young woman. She would pay tuppence to roller-skate on the pier, and swim out to sea from the cove.
Meadfoot Beach -
10 minute walk
A blue-flag pebble and sand beach with safe swimming, toilets, baby-changing facilities, refreshments, deck chair and pedallo hire. Lovely coastal walks in both directions.
Torre Abbey Sands -
15 minute walk
A sandy beach with safe swimming, watersports, toilets, refreshments and deck chair hire . Just across the road is tennis, pitch and putt, crazy golf and the 12th century Torre Abbey. Also an indoor wave pool.

There are bus stops at the harbour and tickets may be purchased there at the Stagecoach Office, next to the Tourist Board. Excellent value is a day ticket for £5, enabling travel within an extensive area stretching as far as Kingswear, Plymouth, Buckfastleigh, Exeter, Tiverton and Seaton. No parking worries and no need to bring a car!
